DESCRIPTION
The SPU GTX E cartridge delivers the best of both worlds, blending the musicality and rich tonal character that have defined Ortofon’s SPU series for decades with the latest innovations in audio technology. Experience precise and detailed sound with the Ortofon SPU GTX E cartridge, which has been upgraded with an elliptical stylus. The elliptical stylus has a more complex shape, with a narrower front radius and a broader side radius. This design allows for a greater contact area with the groove walls, resulting in improved tracking ability and higher fidelity.
The SPU GTX E combines the warmth of the classic SPU series with modern engineering to deliver exceptional audio clarity. The built-in MC step-up transformer ensures high-output,low-noise performance without the need for additional amplification.
FEATURES:
Precision engineering and craftsmanship
SPU GTX cartridges are hand-built by experienced workers in Denmark. Their unibody housings are molded in one piece from a specially selected glass-fiber reinforced co-polymer, never before used for SPU cartridges. This ensures a form-factor stable, rigid, and low resonance housing for the fine generating system. The bottom cover is molded from the same new material, encapsulating the engine in a uniform material and design.
Built-in step-up transformer
The SPU GTX Series is designed to simplify your setup without compromising sound quality. When developing the GTX series, Ortofon chose to develop the new step-up transformers in collaboration with the company Lundahl Transformers. Thanks to the built-in step-up transformer, these cartridges connect directly to any phono stage or amplifier with the ease of a moving magnet cartridge – no extra equipment needed.
