DESCRIPTION

MC Quintet Mono is for playing mono microgroove vinyl records. It features a Nude Elliptical r/R 8/18µm stylus that is a good solution for playing mono microgroove vinyl records. The Quintet Mono will track perfectly through even worn and damaged records and ensure the surface noise control. Quintet Mono uses a strapped output to deliver the same output signal from both sets of pole pins. This effectively eliminates the need for mono-specific equipment, making it possible to enjoy true mono reproduction on any stereo playback system.

Features

  • Nude Elliptical Stylus
  • True Mono Reproduction
  • Strapped Mono Output
  • Surface Noise Control
  • Pure Silver Coil Wire
  • Wide Preamplifier Compatibility

Accuracy Level

The MC Quintet Series reflects Ortofon’s commitment to precise, accurate reproduction without coloration. Its body is made from lightweight, impact-resistant PC thermoplastic, providing a durable, scratch-resistant surface, while neodymium magnets help achieve optimal output. Low internal impedance makes the cartridge less sensitive to load, supporting compatibility with a wide range of preamps and transformers. The MC Quintet Mono delivers open, dynamic sound with a subtle touch of warmth.

The Quintet Series

Ortofon has continued to refine analog sound quality while developing new cartridge technologies for decades. Since 1948, the company has introduced around 100 Moving Coil models, building a long history of cartridge design and manufacturing. The Quintet Series continues that tradition with models designed to carry Ortofon’s moving-coil performance into a new generation.

Compatibility

The Quintet Mono is designed for easy, secure top mounting using the supplied screws. Its aluminium frame features threaded mounting holes that accommodate 5 mm or 7 mm screws depending on headshell thickness. Straight lines, clear stylus visibility, and ample clearance between the cartridge and record surface help simplify installation and alignment. The Quintet Series is also designed to perform well with most common tonearms.
