The PMC Audio MB2S-XBD-P 3-Way Floorstanding Speaker is a reference-grade monitoring system engineered for large control rooms, mastering suites, and surround sound environments where maximum dynamics and low-frequency authority are essential. Building on the acclaimed MB2S platform, the XBD (Extended Bass Delivery) configuration adds a dedicated bass cabinet featuring a second 12-inch Radial™ low-frequency driver, increasing LF headroom by 3dB below 380Hz for effortless power and scale. This enhanced bass performance allows the MB2S-XBD-P to fill larger spaces with ease while maintaining PMC’s renowned accuracy, speed, and tonal balance. In surround and immersive systems, the added low-frequency headroom enables the speaker to confidently handle .1/LFE content, often eliminating the need for additional subwoofers. Precision 32-element, 4th-order passive crossovers are housed in external enclosures to reduce interference and maximize fidelity. With its extended bandwidth, exceptional dynamics, and proven reliability, the MB2S-XBD-P is an ideal solution for music recording, mastering, broadcast, and post-production, trusted by world-class facilities worldwide.

- The MB2S XBD is a development of the successful MB2S with increased dynamics and LF performance.
- The addition of the XBD cabinet containing a second precision 12” Radial™ driver increases the LF headroom by 3dB below 380Hz that allows a larger room to be driven to greater effect.
- In a surround configuration the added headroom of the XBD allows the .1 surround effects channel to be handled with ease, avoiding the installation of further sub units.
- The MB2 XBD features in many quality conscious facilities including Studio Hilversum – The Netherlands. The 32 element, 4th order passive crossovers are housed in external enclosures which can be mounted to the rear of the XBD cabinets for improved fidelity.
