The PMC BB5 SE Passive is the largest in the range and sports a striking 15” Radial™ bass unit that complements PMC’s ATL™ (Advanced Transmission Line) bass-loading principle, allowing the speaker to handle music with the widest dynamic range with absolute ease and confidence. Yet the BB5 isn’t just designed for the loudest works; subtle acoustic material is reproduced with all the dexterity and delicacy of a compact design. No other passive loudspeaker offers this level of resolution and feeling of inexhaustible headroom.

Pure Audio Indulgence
Derived from PMC’s professional studio monitors, the SE range combines traditional British cabinet-making with advanced acoustic engineering. Carefully designed internal bracing and custom-engineered drivers deliver detailed, natural sound with minimal coloration.
Quality Without Compromise
The BB5 SE features handcrafted cabinets available in Grand Walnut, Amarone, Natural Oak or Jet Black. Its drivers feature a soft-feel Nextel™ coating, while the PMC75 SE midrange driver incorporates a solid aluminum dispersion flange for detailed vocals across a wider listening area.
Custom-Designed Binding Posts
Custom-designed, British-built binding posts and linking bars reflect PMC’s attention to engineering quality. Matching veneer stands with precision spikes provide a stable foundation for optimum performance.
Our Attention To Detail
Every PMC loudspeaker is hand-built in the UK using carefully measured and selected components. Crossovers, drivers and cabinets undergo rigorous testing to ensure consistent performance and reliability. Each finished speaker receives computer analysis, BBC speech testing and extensive music listening tests. Every pair is checked against a reference model to maintain PMC’s quality standards.
Passive Systems
The BB5 SE passive design allows listeners to select their preferred amplifier. Its precision-engineered crossover distributes audio frequencies between the drivers for clear, balanced reproduction. Military-grade glass-fiber circuit boards, thick copper tracks and carefully selected, hand-soldered components minimize resistance and support reliable performance.
The Beating Heart
PMC’s ATL™ (Advanced Transmission Line) technology uses a 4m transmission line to produce deep, controlled bass extending down to 17Hz. Carefully selected acoustic materials absorb unwanted frequencies while allowing low-frequency energy to exit through a front-panel vent. The design maintains bass definition without masking vocals or musical detail, delivering balanced reproduction even at lower listening volumes.
